4 killed, 11 injured in Bharuch road mishap

Vadodara, Oct 16: Four passengers were killed and eleven others wounded, six of them critically, when a truck carrying metals overturned at Nanasanja village near Jhagadia in Bharuch district yesterday.

Police said most of the victims were trapped under the metals as driver of the vehicle failed to safety pass with another truck coming from the opposite direction, and met with the accident at around 1930 hrs.

The authorities used a crane to lift the truck and retrieve the victims from the debris. All the victims were rushed to the Jagadia hospital where four were declared dead.

About 20 people, mostly passengers, were travelling in the truck which was on its way to port-town of Dahej from Rajpardi when the accident occured, police said.
