Kolkata, Oct 15 (UNI) West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) today demanded an all party relief committee at the block and district level for distribution of relief materials to the flood affected people.
''Earlier, we have proposed to the ruling government for setting up a permanent flood control commission and also suggested them to hold an all party relief committee in the block and district level for the distribution of relief materials. But we are yet to receive any response from the government,'' WBPCC Working President Pradip Bhattacharjee told newsmen after a secretariat meeting.
He also alleged that the ruling Front showed a partisan attitude in distributing relief materials and showed negligence to rescue the marooned people.
Mr Bhattacharjee also expressed deep concern regarding outbreak of Dengue and Malaria in the state and alleged that the ruling Left Front failed miseraly to address this problem.
''The situation is going beyond control in the different districts in the state including Kolkata,'' he added.
