Tripura government bans online lottery

Agartala, Oct 15 (UNI) The Tripura government has decided to ban the online lottery with immediate effect.

This was decided at a Cabinet meeting recently.

Briefing media persons here today, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Ratan Lal Nath of Congress party said his allegations on the online lottery scam stood vindicated after the decision of the state government.

He welcomed the initiatives taken by some of the Cabinet Ministers, who raised the demand for enforcing this ban.

Mr Nath again renewed the demand for a CBI probe to reveal the names of the guilty people in this scam.

A major discrepancy was detected in the result sheets of Tripura online lottery.

The Mumbai crime branch had conclusively revealed that gross cheating and forgery was resorted to in the publication of results of the Tripura online lottery.
