Team which handles heat better would win, feels Smith

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) South African skipper Graeme Smith today said the team which handles the heat better would be the one to come out on top, of the ICC Champions Trophy tie agaianst New Zealand here tomorrow.

Speaking to newspersons on the eve of the Group 'B' match at the Brabourne stadium here, Smith said they were not unduly worried of the pitch, after Sri Lanka dismissed West Indies for just 80 yesterday as it would be the same for both teams.

He further said that their team was well prepared and had a good acclimitising period here with good net sessions in the heat as well as a couple of practice matches.

''These have helped us get our rhythm and the boys are now all ready for the real action,'' he said.

Speaking on who their main player would be, Smith said that the South Africans do not depend on any one player.

''We play as a team and every member is crucial for our all round success,'' he remarked.

Smith become slightly agitated when asked about their attack having no variation withouut the inclusion of a qualility spinner, saying ''seam bowlers have also been our strength and we have won with them in the past So I am confident we can do the same here. We also have a spinner in Robin Peterson and he would prove a handful for the opposition''.
