Southwest monsoon active over Kerala

Pune, Oct 15 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been active over Kerala. It has been subdued over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were above normal in Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, northern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha northern Chattisgarh, in some parts of Telangana, some parts of Bihar, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, northern central Maharashtra and southern Chattisgarh.

They were below normal over Jammu&Kashmir and were normal over Punjab and southern central Maharashtra.

Night temperatures were below normal in some parts of Orissa and Uttaranchal. They were appreciably above normal in western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu&Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, northern central Maharashtra, Bihar, some parts of Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, northern Konkan, northern Chattisgarh and northern Telangana.

They were normal over Punjab, south central Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman&Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu&Kashmir, southern Konkan, Goa, southern central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka.

Dry weather will prevail over Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy rain have occurred at many places in Kerala.

Very light rain has occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and central Maharashtra.

Rain or thundershowers has occurred at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Karnataka, Andaman&Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.
