SEC clear Sonia's Rae Bareli visit ahead of local bodies polls

Lucknow, Oct 15 (UNI) The State Election Commission (SEC) has cleared the visit of AICC president Sonia Gandhi to her constituency of Rae Bareli.

The SEC has allowed her to participate in a function to be held at Rae Bareli where 'Life line Express' -- a train equipped with medical facilities -- is providing treatment to the needy, additional commissioner, State Election Commission Vinay Priya Dubey said here.

Since the process of urban local bodies election was on in the state, the AICC had approached the SEC to clear her one-day tour.

Ms Gandhi would pay a day-long visit to her constitutuency on October 17.

During her visit Ms Gandhi will participate in the concluding function of 'Life Line Medical Train' at Uchachar, which is sponsored by Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Charitable Trust.

The Rae Bareli MP is also expected to review the developmental works in her constitutency besides visiting some remote villages to personally review the developmental works.
