S Asia summit on e-governance from Oct 26

New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Focussing on the pro-poor e-governance strategies and mobile governance in developing nations from South Asian region, experts from India and abroad will participate in an international meet on e-governnace summit ''e-GovWorld'' here.

The summit is being organised by the Society for Promotion of e-governance with the support of Department of Information Technology, NIC and the World Bank.

''As more and more countries in Asia have begun charting and implementing their e-governance plans, there is a need to cooperate with other nations and replicate good projects for success, thus necessitating the need for institutional mechanisms for cooperation among countries,'' convenor of the summit Vikas Kanungo said.

This predominant issue will be discussed by the representatives from South Asia, Europe, Africa and the US during the event, he added.

Prominent experts participating in the summit includes World Bank's Chief Economic Advisor Shekhar Shah, country's Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah and others.

The three day summit will start from October 26.
