Rural police seize huge quantity of explosives in A'bad
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 15 (UNI) The Aurangabad rural police has seized a huge quantity of explosives which include 430 kg ammonium nitrate, 566 electronic detonators, 183 gelatine sticks, Safety Fuse Number 11 stored illegally in the Adgaon Budruk village, 10 km from here last night.
One Kacharu Raibhan Mali (50) and his son Bharat (20) have been arrested in this regard.
Village Sarpanch Dinkar Hake, who is reported to have given the stock to Malis is absconding, the police said.
Preliminary investigations have ruled out that the explosives were meant for terrorist activities. Today, the police found out that Kacharu Mali was in possession of a large quantity of explosives.
Following this, a police team raided Mali's residence at 1930 hrs and recovered the explosives. The accused have told the police that they got the explosives from Hake.
According to sources the accused were planning to use the explosives for triggering blasts in quarries. A case has been registered against the accused under the Explosives Substances Act.
