Rural police seize huge quantity of explosive in A'bad.
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 15 (UNI) The Aurangabad rural police seized a huge quantity of explosives - 430 kg ammonium nitrate, 566 electronic detonators, 183 gelatine sticks, Safety Fuse Number 11 stored illegally at Adgaon Budruk village, 10 from the city.
One Kacharu Raibhan Mali (50) and his son Bharat (20) have been arrested in this regard last night.
The village Sarpanch, Dinkar Hake, who is reported to have given the stock to Malis, has given a slip to the cops, according to police sources.
Preliminary investigations have ruled out that the explosives were meant for terrorist activities. Today, police came to know that Kacharu Mali was in possession of a large quantity of explosives.
Following this a police team raided Mali's residence in at 1930 hrs and recovered explosives. The accused have told police that they got the explosives from Hake. Prima facie, the sources said, the accused were using the explosives for bringing about blasts in quarries.
An offence has been registered against the accused under Explosives Substances Act.
