Property worth lakhs destroyed in a fire at Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Oct 15 (UNI) A major fire broke out in the busy Bazar Gate area, destroying property worth lakhs here today.

Three shops, Anmol Novelty, Vijay stores and Ashoka stores, which stocked stationery and cutlery were gutted in the fire, fire-brigade and police sources said.

One person was injured in the mishap, police said.

The Mayor of Kolhapur, Mrs Sai Kharade, local MLA Malogi Raje, KMC deputy commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh and other top police officials have visited the site to take stock of the situation, police added.
