Over three lakh students appear in class 10 exams in Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 15 (UNI) As many as 3,59,920 students are appearing in class 10 examinations and 539 centres have been established for the purpose in the Kashmir valley, an official spokesman said today.
Minister of State for Education S Manjit Singh inspected various centres established for conduct of class 10 annual examinations which began yesterday.
He expressed satisfaction over arrangements made by the Board of School Education for smooth and fair conduct of examinations.
To curb the menace of copying and maintain transparency in examinations, the Minister said flying squads have been constituted for frequent checking of centres all over the valley.
The steps taken by the board have proved useful to check the menace to a large extent, he added.
Mr Singh underscored the need for parent-teacher cooperation to check unfair means during examinations.
To raise the standard of education in government schools, the Minister said some result-oriented schemes have been introduced.
