More than a 1,000 litres of illicit liqour seized, 1 arrested
New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) In its special drive against illicit liqour brewing in the capital, police have siezed more than 1,000 litres of hooch from Alipur area of North-West Delhi and arrested one person.
In the raid, conducted following a tip-off, 1,100 litres of semi-prepared liqour and another 135 litres in 'ready to dispatch' condition were seized on October 13 from Hitanki village in the Yamuna riverbed, according to the police.
While Amir Singh alias Goggi (36) was arretsed from the spot where the liqour was being brewing illegaly, his other colleagues managed to escape by crossing the river. However, they have been identified and raids are being conducted to arrest them, police added.
Three large drums, a plastic tank and vessels for brewing the concoction were seized from the site.
