Maoists blast railway track at Giridih
Dhanbad, Oct 15 (UNI) Suspected Maoist rebels today triggered off a blast, damaging a portion of railway track, hampering movement of some superfast trains in Jharkhand's Giridih district today.
Official sources said there was no report of any casualty in the blast in the Chegdo area. The ultras blew up some three-metres of track in between Parasnath and Chaudhuri Bundh, about 60 km from Giridih town at 0130 hrs, police said.
The running of New Delhi-Howra Rajdhani and New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani expresses was also affected, police said, adding it took about nine hours to restore normal functioning of trains.
The Maoists of Revolutionary Democratic Front eysterday called a 24-hour bandh in Jharkhand, Orissa and Bihar to protest arrest of three cadres including top ranking leader Shila Devi in Orissa recently.
