Kazakhistan retaines Asian Junior boxing champ'p, India 2nd
Panaji, Oct 15 (UNI) India finished behind defending champions Kazakhistan, in the 2nd Asian Junior Boxing championship, which concluded at Calangute in north Goa today.
Kazakistan gained 37 points to claimed the first position, While host India had to be content with second spot with 3 gold and 26 points and Iran finished third with one gold and 14 points.
For Kazakhistan Bashenov( Bantam weight), Yegizekovs(Light weight), Koznabekovs( Light welter), Serikov (Welter Weight), Kossobutskiy (Light heavy weight), Tevid( Heavy weight), Cherimikovi (Super heavy Weight) claimed the gold.
Paramjit singh, Santosh Harijan, Chottelal were India's toppers in their respective weight catagary.
Karkardi claimed the lone gold for Iran.
Kazakhistan's Bashenov was adjudged the best boxer and Iran's Akbari the best loser.
Goa Lad Santosh Harijan was adjudged as the best Indian Boxer.
