Kalam concerned about Nagas Prof. Kannan
Kohima, Oct 15 (UNI) Nagaland University vice-chancellor (VC) K Kannan has revealed President A P J Abdul Kalam's concern regarding the Naga people and the state's HIV/AIDS scenario.
Speaking at a function in Dimapur yesterday Prof Kannan said during his recent meet with the President at New Delhi, Mr Kalam had expressed his desire to invite the state based Choral Group to perform at the Rastrapati Bhavan during the Christmas.
Conveying his vision to transform the University into a 'fountain of growth', Prof Kannan said the state had to be developed into a unique model for the world to follow.
He also stressed on the need to address four areas of connectivity like physical, electronic, knowledge and market.
He said the future politicians should be from Nagaland University so that they would understand the problems of the state better and address them accordingly.
