Joshna Chinappa beaten in semifinal of Subway Goshen Open
New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Third seed Joshna Chinappa began with a bang but fizzled out in the end to crash out of the 6500 dollar Subway Goshen Open in Indiana, losing her semifinal match to second seeded Irish Aisling Blake.
Joshna, country's top woman squash player, was beaten 4/9, 2/9, 9/7, 9/2, 9/2 by Blake in the see-saw match.
Joshna was her aggressive self as she began in style, wrapping the first two games without much ado and seemed well set for a facile straight game win. Blake, however, had other ideas and the Irish player showed tremendous resilence to wrest the third game and then going all out.
Joshna, on the other hand, looked jaded and suddenly, it was Blake who was dominating the T and she dropped just four points in the last two games and walked away with an incredible win, much to Joshna's frustration.
Blake meets top seeded Canadian Alana Miller in the final, according to information received here today.
