HP government to allot 166 mini power projects soon
Shimla, Oct 15 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government is likely to allot 166 mini power projects in the near future after inviting bids from interested parties, official sources said.
No company would be allotted more than three power projects at the same time, while projects up to two MWs would only be allotted to local people of the state.
The sources said that out of a total of 166 projects up for grabs, 27 were likely to be allotted soon in the second phase, while 31 mini power projects have already been allotted to the interested parties.
The sources said while 21 of these would be allotted to people from outside the state and only six would be allotted to the residents of the state.
The government had already allotted 22 mini power projects to the local people out of a total of 31 projects in the first phase, while nine have been given to people from outside the state, they said.
It had also withdrawn sanction to 10 power projects after the companies failed to began work, while two dozen other projects have been provided additional time to start work on the projects, the sources said.
All formalities in 15 projects, out of a total of 27 lined up for allotment, have been completed, while modalities were being completed in the remaining 12 projects that were likely to be allotted after receiving the nod from the state Cabinet in its next meeting, likely to be held in the next few days.
