Haryana govt to set up sports complex at Rohtak
Rohtak, Oct 15 (UNI) Haryana Government has decided to set up a sports complex here over an area of 100 acre and it would also have a sports academy.
This was stated by local Member of Parliament Deepender Singh Hooda at the inaugural function of the 41st Haryana State Girls Sports Championship at Jat High School here today.
Mr Hooda said that Rs 70 crore would be spent on improving sports infrastructure and providing modern sports facilities, education and training to the budding talents of the state during this year. Out of this funds, Rs 40 crore would be spent on construction of sports stadia in big villages of the state.
He said that he would try to get the diet money enhanced for those players who participated in various competitions organized by the Education Department.
He said that Rs 10 crore were being spent to create new sports infrastructure and facilities in Maharishi Dayanand University here.
He said that 68 girl students from each of the 20 districts in the state and Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai were participating in the four-day championship. He congratulated the participants for having reached at the state level tournament and extended his best wishes to them.
