Dataquest to reaffirm No 1 IT training co status to NIIT

Nagpur, Oct 15 (UNI) India's leading IT publication group Cybermedia, the publisher's of Dataqust, will reaffirm the number 1 IT Training company status for 2005-06 to NIIT on October 26.

With revenues of Rs 450 crore, NIIT is nearly 1.5 times bigger than the combined revenues of the next 4 players put together as per the Dataquest annual industry survey, a statement said.

The statement quoting NIIT Chairman Rajendra Pawar said, ''NIIT strengthened its leadership as the No 1 IT training company with revenues of Rs 450 crore and recording a market share of 31 per cent in the 1,453 crore IT training market.'' This was disclosed here to the media by NIIT Chairman Rajendra Pawar, who was here to mark NIIT's 25th anniversary celebrations.

He further said, ''The wide acceptance by the industry of NIIT's special programmes for engineering students and the multi-track GNIIT programme led to doubling the number of placement of our students in 2005-06. We have aggressive growth plans this year and our focus will be on leveraging our partnerships with technology majors including Intel, Sun and Microsoft to prepare a larger number of students for the growing IT and ITeS industries.'' NIIT plans to enrich its portfolio of offerings for the individual learners in mini-metros by offering programmes in the IT assisted space. This will help NIIT to offer young aspirants to prepare for careers in the growing finance, insurance and banking sectors as well as offer executive development programme in association with prestigious management institutions, the statement added.

NIIT's education centres in Nagpur are located at Dharampeth and Sadar. In addition a dedicated corporate learing centre is operational at Sadar. NIIT Nagpur is involved in training Engineering students through its intensive AAE for Engineers programme.

Successful students from Nagpur are now working with companies like Fidelity, HSBC and Syntel.
