Centre sanctions Rs 9.30 crore to Tripura govt

Agartala, Oct 15 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned Rs 9.30 crores to the Tripura government for infrastructure development of state's several tribal villages.

State forest minister Jitendra Chowdhury informed regarding this to the newsmen yesterday.

Recently, Union tribal welfare secretary Meena Gupta visited the state and made an on the spot study about the various programmes initiated by the state government for the development of the tribals.

This is the for the first time that the centre has sanction the fund for the development of these villages.

A high level meeting was held on friday to prepare a strategy how to spend the sanctioned the money.
