Army organises free veterinary aid camp in Udhampur
Jammu, Oct 15 (UNI) The army today organised a free veterinary aid camp at Nakki area in Udhampur district where more than 1,520 animals were treated.
The camp was conducted by three Advance Veterinary Hospital (AVH) under the aegis of Headquarters 71 sub area 'Op Sadbhabvna' at Govt Primary School Nakki.
Brigadier K K Chopra, commander 71 sub area inaugurated the camp and interacted with the locals and ex-servicemen. He presented metal benches and desks to the school.
Animals suffering various contagious and non-contagious diseases like liver fluke dewormings, to mention a few were treated.
Vaccinations of infectuous diseases and spray of ticks and mites were given.
Fully equipped clinical cum pathology laboratory was set up to examine various laboratory samples and carry out on the spot diagnosis.Expert veterinary team was led by Colonel Navaz Shariff, Commandant 3 Advance Veterinary Hospital and Capt V Kamalraj along with surgical team from Jammu Veterinary College.
Spot field surgery was conducted by veterinary surgeons of the army and Veterinary College of Jammu. The camp received an overwhelming response from villagers who expressed their heart felt gratitude to the army and desired that many such veterinary camps should be organized on a regular basis.
