Accept Mukherjee Commission report on Netaji
Ranchi, Oct 15: All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) today threatened to launch a country-wide agitation if the Union Government failed to reject the its Action Taken Report (ATR) and accept the Mukherjee Commission report on disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
AIFB General Secretary Debabrata Biswas told reporters that as first step of agitaion, the effigies of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, who refused to accept the Mukherjee Commission report on behalf of the Cetnral government, would be burnt in all parts of the country.
Accusing the Congress of suppressing facts to the disappearance of Netaji, Mr Biswas said the AIFB would organise seminar and lectures to make people aware of the 'misdeed' of the Congress on this issue. A nation-wide signature campaign would also be organised and memorandum of the demand to be submitted to President of India A P J Abdul Kalam, Mr Biswas added.
He said the one-man-Mukherjee commission report mentioned that there was no air crash on August 1945 in which Netaji was claimed to have lost his life.
A ''Netaji Chetna Abhiyan'' would be organised from October 21 to December 31 in Andaman and Nicobar with the demand to rename the islands as 'Shaheed Swaraj Dweep', he added.
