Abhra to join Bengal as Sandip's replacement in Santosh

Kolkata, Oct 15 (UNI) East Bengal's goalkeeper Abhra Mandal will fly in as replacement keeper for injured Sandip Nandy to play for Bengal in the ongoing Santosh Trophy at Gurgaon.

Talking to UNI IFA secretary Subrata Dutta said, ''Abhra Mandal is taking an evening flight to join the team playing in Gurgaon.

''East Bengal were very cooperative in releasing the player,'' he added.

Earlier, Bengal coach Prasanta Banerjeee sought a replacement for injured Mahindra's keeper Sandip Nandy.

Nandy reached the city here this evening. ''I have a ligament injury that will require two weeks' rest. Hopefully all will be fine soon,'' he told UNI.
