64 Doda migrants return to their homes from Chamba
Jammu, Oct 15 (UNI) Altogether 64 migrants, including children and women, returned to their homes in Doda district last evening after being assured by the state government that their demands will be considered.
These people had migrated to Chamba in Himachal Pradesh from Sawara village in Gandoh area of Doda due to militancy. IGP Jammu, Dr Shesh Pal Vaid met the migrants and assured that their problems will be attended to by the authorities concerned.
DIG Udhampur-Doda range, Lalat Indu Mohanty said the Sawara people, who include some members of Village Defence Committee (VDC) and their families, were persuaded to return to their homes by a team of Doda police, which was camping in Chamba for last one week.
