Woman dies in road mishap near Mokokchung

Kohima, Oct 14 (UNI) A woman was killed on the spot and ten others were seriously injured when the taxi they were traveling in fell into a 150 metre deep gorge near Yisemyong under Mokokchung district yesterday.

Official sources here today said the taxi, which was heading from Mokokchung to Longleng on National Highway 61, met with the accident as the driver lost control of the vehicle.

All the injured were admitted to Imkongliba Memorial Hospital in Mokokchung town, sources said.

Police registered a case and effort was on to apprehend the absconding driver.
