Tolly club books for EZ Mcdowell Golf

Kolkata, Oct 14 (UNI) Tollygunge club booked its place in the east zone regional final of the Mcdowell's signature club golf championship.

In the intra-club tournament, the first state of the multi-city event, held at Tollygunge club here today, Ranjit Chowdhury and Mayukh Ray emerged winner and runner up in the 0-8 category.

The duo was oined by Mohan Chirimar and V Dewan, who were the winner and runner-up respectively in the 9-16 handicap category.

Mohan scored 38 points while the runner-up aggregated 36 points.

Filling the last two spots of the tolygunge club team were A.C.Sanjeev and S.K.Dutta scoring 37 and 34 points respectively in the 17-24 category.

The Mcdowell's signature club golf championship 2006 will bring together over 4,000 golfers representing 30 top golf clubs from 20 cities across the country. The championships will culminate in the grand finale to be held in Malaysia, to decide the Mcdowell's signature champion golf club of India.

Apart from the main prize, several exciting spot prizes were on offer to keep every participate enthused. Tshi kidwai won the longest drive (overall) and bagged a King Fisher airlines ticket while the mcdowells signature closest to the pin was won by Harmeet Sahney. The outlook closest to pin was won by Rajesh Goenka.

The regional final will be played at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club on November 20.
