Sri Janardhana Mahakali Temple Trustee Anjali Balal died

Udupi, Oct 14 (UNI) Sri Janardhana Mahakali Temple Managing Trustee Anjali Balal died today in KMC Hospital at Manipal due to kidney failure.

He was 83. He was survived by his wife, four son and two daughter.

Mr Balal, who had taken over the reigns from his ancestors in 1973, had taken initiative for all round development of the temple.

He had also donated about Rs 1.20 Crore to various temples in the undivided Dakshina Kannada District. He had also published several books from the temple including a volume on the temples of undivided Dakshina Kannada District.

Mr Balal had also served as the President of Manipur Gram Panchayat in Udupi Taluk for four successive terms from 1950 representing Praja Socialist Party (PSP).
