Six detected with dengue-like symptoms

Morena, MP, Oct 14 (UNI) Six people, including four children and a woman, were detected with dengue-like symptoms in this district, official sources said today.

The district hospital referred Kamla and Yatendra Singh Jadaun to Gwalior when less number of platelets were found in their body during examination.

Earlier, four children were sent to Gwalior for the same reason.

Meanwhile, one woman, Jahan Reshma, who was also found with less number of platelets, was being treated at the district hospital.

Sources said platelet count in the patients ranged from 43,000-53,000 although the number of platelets in healthy person range from 1.5-2 lakh.

Chief Medical Officer H S Sharma said a survey will be carried out in the area if these patients were detected with dengue.

Child disease specialist A K Gupta said four children were sent to Gwalior after being detected with symptoms of dengue and chikungunya.
