RSS gives clean chit to ABVP in Prof Sabbharwal case
Varanasi, Oct 14 (UNI) The RSS today gave a clean chit to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) -- student wing of the BJP -- in the Prof Sabbharwal case and instead blamed NSUI, Congress student wing, for the ''unfortunate'' incident.
Interacting with mediapersons, RSS national executive member Ram Madhav claimed that the ABVP was not at all involved in the incident that led to the death of Prof Sabbharwal -- a college professor in Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh).
''The ABVP workers have fallen prey to a conspiracy hatched by the media to defame the students 'organisation by linking it with the unfortunate incident,'' Mr Madhav maintained.
Instead, the Sangh functionary blamed NSUI for Prof Sabbharwal's death, which he termed as ''unfortunate.'' ''Prof Sabbharwal episode indicates that the entire educational system is degenerating,'' Mr Madhav maintained.
He, however, claimed that the ABVP will be cleared of the charges.
