RJD demands suspension of BJP MLAs caught in sting operation

Ranchi, Oct 14 (UNI) The Jharkhand unit of RJD today demanded suspension of the BJP MLAs, who were allegedly involved in taking money for recommending a software company to open its office in the state, as recently shown in a sting operation.

Party's state General Secretary Manohar Kumar Yadav said here all the four BJP MLAs-Chatruram Mahto, Loknath Mahto, Sameer Oraon and Ashok Kumar should be suspended from the state assembly like the eleven parliament members, who had been suspended from the House, after they were shown taking money for asking questions in the Parliament.

Mr Yadav said the matter would be raised before the Assembly Speaker and taken to the court if needed.

Demanding strict action against all the four legislators, Mr Yadav said there was no need of any more evidence in this regard adding "they had not only tarnished the image of a public representative but played with the sentiments of people".

On October 11, the BJP alleged that the Congress was conspiring against its MLAs by conducting a sting operation in the state and had demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda has recently said that three persons had tried to capture clippings of a party MLA, who was forcibly given money, for an official task at his residence.

A case in this regard was registered by the party MLA Ashok Bhagat in the concerned police station.
