Rao urges naxals, govt to resume talks
Rajahmundry, Oct 14 (UNI) Both Naxals and the Andhra Pradesh Government should resume talks as dialogue is the only way for restoring peace, Chairman of High Power Committee for Remote and Interior Areas Development (RAID) T Purushotham Rao said here today Addressing mediapersons Mr Rao, a former minister, who was also emissary for earlier peace talks said more than one lakh acres would be disbursed on November one, the state formation day, to the landless.
He said both the government and Maoists had discussed common issues in the earlier talks.
Mr Rao urged to reduce the influence of the Left wing extremist ideologies in the Remote and Interior Areas (RIA). The government had adopted a four-prong strategy to deal with socio-economic issues of Naxalism affected areas, he added.
It involves resolving land issues, creating both economic and social infrastructure, expanding employment and ensuring responsive governance.
