Putin congratulates Kalam on his 75th Birthday

New Delhi, Oct 14: Russian President Vladimir Putin today congratulated President A P J Abdul Kalam on his 75th birthday tomorrow and expressed confidence that interaction between India and Russia would continue to develop in the spirit of strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation.

In a message to Dr Kalam, Mr Putin said that cooperation between the two countries would enrich itself with large-scale projects in economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Russian President, who is coming to India in January 2007, for the Indo-Russian Summit, said he would be happy to meet him (Dr Kalam) in New Delhi.

Recalling his previous meetings with Dr Kalam, Mr Putin said these were always characterised by the atmosphere of confidence, which has been an inherent trait of bilateral relations for a long time.
