Prohibitory orders extended in Mangalore

Mangalore, Oct 14 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC have been extended till the morning of October 18 in all the disturbed areas in Dakshina Kannada district following the violent incidents at B C Road in Ullal last night.

Police said the situation was now peaceful and under control.

Additional police force had been deployed in the area. As a precautionary measure, heavy police bandobust had been made in the city.

In fresh violence in the trouble-torn district last night, some miscreants, armed with lethal weapons, attacked two persons, injuring them. Besides, four shops were damaged in stone pelting incidents and a crude explosive was blasted.

Police said 20 people have been taken into custody in connection with yesterday's incidents. The injured duo is recovering in a hospital.
