No impact of RDF-sponsored Jharkhand bandh
Ranchi, Oct 14 (UNI) The 24-hour Jharkhand bandh sponsored by underground outfit- Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF)- failed to make much impact today, official sources said.
Barring some pockets where RDF has some presence, the bandh passed off peacefully with no impact in major parts of the state.
Since yesterday, the railway authorities, Dhanbad Division, had, for precautionary measures, cancelled many local trains and rescheduled timings for some other trains.
Report from Hazaribag said the government offices functioned normally while long distance bus services were affected.
No untoward incident had been reported from any part of the district, senior police official added.
Some long distance buses were affected in Garwah, Palamu, and Chatra districts.
The bandh was called to protest the arrest of outfit's leader Shila Devi in Orissa's Rourkela recently.
