National Vector Borne disease team tours Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Oct 14 (UNI) A team of the Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme today visited various areas in the city to take stock of the dengue preventive measures being taken by the UT Health department.

Meanwhile, the Health Department continued its efforts for carrying out dengue containment measures in the city and the sorrounding villages.

The health department has deployed special teams in the sensitive areas to check dengue, an official release here today stated.

Out of total 320 reported cases from the hospitals in the city including the PGIMER, 177 are confirmed dengue cases. Of the confirmed cases 48 belong to Chandigarh while the rest are from Punjab, Haryana, UP, Delhi and Uttaranchal.
