Monsoon subdues

Pune, Oct 14 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been subdued over Assam, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in north Madhya Pradesh and were appreciably above normal in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, north Rajasthan, south Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and in some parts of Orissa and Vidarbha. They were normal in Sub- Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, north Konkan, north central Maharashtra, Marathwda and some parts of Telangana. They were markedly below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and were below normal in south Rajasthan. They were also normal over Gujarat.

Night temperatures were above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu&Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and north central Maharashtra. It was normal in Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Vidarbha and north Telangana.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu&Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman&Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Punjab, south Konkan and Goa, south central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Sub- Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, north Konkan, north central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy rains have occured at a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers have occured at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and interior Karnataka.
