Land bank map to be released soon

Barrackpore, Oct 14: Amid controversies over the land acquisition of Singur, West Bengal government will release ''Land Bank map'' of North 24 Parganas in the first week of December.

Revealing this, West Bengal Finance Minister Dr. Asim Dasgupta said on thursday the map would come out classifying the characters of the land in the district.

The map was prepared to make optimum usage of the vacant lands for industrial purposes with focus on agriculture and pisciculture.

Dr Dasgupta said the government would prefer small and medium industries.
