Goal-rush in Nehru hockey, Guru Nanak School reaches semis
New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) It rained goals as Shri Guru Nanak Public Girls Senior Secondary School, Shahabad (Haryana) pummelled Bir Bahadur Singh Spotrs College, Gorakhpur by a whopping 17-0 margin to be the first team to sail into the semifinals of the 13th Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament here today.
Forwards Rani Devi and Ritu Rani ulrected havoc and scored at will, ending up scoring eight goals each, while the other goal came through Meenakshi.
In another match, Blooming Dales School, Hissar spanked Kreeda Prabodhini, Pune 7-0 to reach the quarterfinals.
For the winners, who led 5-0 at breather, Poonam Rani and Ambika struck a brace each, while Poonam, Vijaya and Anjali also chipped in with one goal each.
