Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) Fervez Maharoof left the West Indian batting line-up in tatters taking a career best six for 14 as the Carribean side folded up for their lowest ever one-day score of 80 in 30.4 overs in the last qualifying match of the ICC ChampionsTrophy at the Brabourne stadium here today.

The West Indies, electing to bat after winning the toss, the only thing to go in their favour this afternoon, found the Lankan spearhead too hot to handle as he took two wickets in his first two overs and Lasith Malinga also chipped in with one to leave the visitors tottering at 13 for three.

Brian Lara and Wavell Hinds tried to repair the damage with a 38 run partnership, but Maharoof then came on and wrecked the Windies innings to dismiss them for their lowest score ever.

Only Hinds, with his 28, could withstand the pressure to a certain extent.
