Eight teams in fray for subjr nationals from Oct 18

Chennai, Oct 14 (UNI) Eight states--Mizoram, Sikkim, Chandigarh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh--will vie for top honours in the 29th sub-junior national football championship to be held here from October 18 to 28.

Chennai Football Association Secretary J M Fernando said the eight teams will compete in the championship on league cum knock out basis, with the top two teams from Group A and Group B qualifying for the knock out semi finals.

The final will be held on October 28. Mizoram are the reigning champions while West Bengal had emerged the runner up last year.
