'Dhoni's emergence eased pressure on me, says Yuvraj

New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) An aggressive batsman to start with, Yuvraj Singh says he has now become more patient in his approach thanks largely to the emergence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has ''taken off the pressure'' on the dashing left-hander.

''Dhoni's arrival has taken off the pressure on me. Now I don't have to slam every ball out the park. I mean he takes care of all that, which has helped my game,'' Yuvraj said in media session here earlier this week.

''I was an aggressive batsman when I started but I have now come to realise that one has to be patient and everything else falls in place. My batting form has always been good in patches but now I strive to be consistent. More then the technique, the fluctuations in form are a refelction of a batsman's thinking,'' he added.

The recent batting failures of the team are a cause of concern for Yuvraj as well but the stylish left-hander says it is just a matter of time before the famed Indian line-up finds its form.

''We are looking to improve in every aspect of the game but yes, batting is a concern. Batsmen need to strike form and I am sure they will on dry pitches here. I would say the bowlers have done a decent job and it's the batsmen who need to deliver now,'' he said.

''But having said that, we need balance in our side. After all to win a match you need to do well in every department of the game,'' he further added.

Apart from Team India, Yuvraj rated defending champions West Indies, World Champions Australia along with New Zealand as the favourites to win the mini World Cup.
