Cyclonic storm affects Arunachal villages

Itanagar, Oct 14: A cyclonic storm has hit around five villages under Lekang circle in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh leaving a trail of destruction.

According to a delayed official report, the devastating storm had damaged houses, crops in Rongalibeel, Mahadevpur I, II, III and IV villages besides killing cattle and other domestic animals.

Rescue operation was immediately launched by the district administration and all the departments has been alerted, the report said.

All the field staff had been sent to the affected villages to assess loss and damage of properties with the help of respective gaon burahs (village headmen) and panchayat leaders, the report added.
