Crompton Greaves Q2FY07 net up by 25 pc

New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) Crompton Greaves Ltd has posted a 25.14 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 40.66 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 32.49 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company's total income also rose by 48.52 per cent to Rs 833.40 crore for Q2FY07 in comparison to Rs 561.13 crore in Q2FY06.

The company recently decided for the acquisition of the transformers, Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Rotating Machines and Contracting businesses of Ganz Transelektro Villamossagi Zrt (GTV) along with the business of Transverticum kft (TV) engaged in the supporting areas of design, erection, commissioning and commercial activity, both located in Hungary, at an estimated cost of 35 million euros.
