BSF held by Assam Rifles 1-1, Nigerians drive out Sikkim Police

Gangtok, Oct 14 (UNI) Assam Rfiles and BSF (Jallandhar) played out a 1-1 draw in an action-packed quarterfinal league match while GMHK Lions XI humiliated Sikkim Police 4-1 in the 28th All India Governors' Gold Cup Football tournament at Paljor stadium here today.

In the first tie, Akum Ao took AR into the lead with a brilliant right footer into 23rd mintue of play.

BSF brought equaliser 20 minutes after the breather from PH Boy Singh whose shot AR goalkeeper Lokeshar Singh failed to stop.

Nigerian club GMHK bombarded Sikkim Police goalmouth right from go and struck home at 43rd minute when Felix Aklojano booted home 1-0.

Then Ekong Daniel 57th minute 2-0, Nnajiuba Eze 74th munite 3-0 and Abdul OKegemiro 82nd 4-0 enabled the visitors handsome victory.

One minute before the long wistle Policeman Suman Dewan scored a facesaving goal 4-1.

Tomorrow matches: Ansa Nepal vs Sikkim Sports Academy Air India (Mumbai) vs Army XI.
