ADB sanctions Rs 16.50 crore for a Kashmir road
Srinagar, Oct 14: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned Rs 16.50 crore for a road in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, an official spokesman said.
He said the Bank had earlier sanctioned only Rs 7.20 crore for the construction of Newa Bagati Kanipora road project in the Badgam district.
He said the Minister of State for Rural Development and Science&Technology Javaid Mustafa Mir announced that after discussing the matter with the ADB officials again, the bank agreed and sanctioned entire amount.
Mr Mir said this would enable the state to complete the project within the stipulated time which covers for the benefit of thousands of people.
