Nagpur, Oct 14 (UNI) Activists of All India Christian Council (AICC) and All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations (AICSO) burned copies of the anti-conversion laws passed by various states in the country at a rally held here today to mark the golden jubilee of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's conversion to Buddhism.

The activists also tried to burn an effigy of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, but the police intervened and prevented the attempt.

Several individuals converted to Buddhism and Christianity in what the organisers said was the exercise of their Constitutional Right to choose their religion.

Representatives from the Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Christian and Muslim communities were present at the rally as also some members of human rights organisations from abroad.
