We have plans for each Windies player, says Jayawardene

Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI) Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene today said that he did not have any preferences on which group he wants his team to enter, adding, that they were here to play good cricket.

Speaking on the eve of the final qualifying game against West Indies--both the teams have already qualified for the next round of the ICC Champions Trophy--Jayawardene said, ''For tomorrow's match, we are not just concentrating on one player like Brian Lara, but all the West Indian players can be dangerous, especially Gayle, Sarwan and Hinds.

He also said that his team has drawn up not just one plan to counter the Windies ''but we have drawn up three to four plans for each player,'' he explained.

The Lankan captain also said that they are used to these hot and humid conditions and all the players have been working very hard on their game.

Jayawardene also hinted at a few changes in the team from that which played the match against Zimbabwe. ''We will look at the condition of the wicket and then decide,'' he said.

The Lankan coach Tom Moody said, ''Tomorrow's match as a very important challenge for us which we are looking forward to.'' Speaking about his team's shortcomings, Moody said, The main problem has been the extras' we have conceded so far. We have been working hard on this deficiency and hopefully we will be able to cit down on the no-balls and wides.'' Moody also said that the dew factor would not have too much impact ''and since we have played here before, we know the conditions and would definitely stand to gain by that experience.''
