Two govt officials convicted in ACB cases
Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) Special Judge for ACB cases, Vijayawada, has convicted and sentenced a junior assistant to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year.
The judge also slapped a fine of Rs 2500 in default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months under to suffer simple imprisonment for three months under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The junior assistance G Phani Mohan, attached to Provident Fund section of Zila Parishad at Guntur, was trapped by the ACB in October 2000, when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 1,000 to doing an official favour.
In another case, Mandal Revenue Inspector of Koilipara mandal in Guntur district A Yellamanda was convicted and sentenced by the ACB Judge to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and pay a fine of Rs 2500, and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for three months.
He was trapped by ACB in November 2000, when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 1,000 for doing an official favour, ACB, said in a release here today.
