Timber distributed to quake survivors

Srinagar, Oct 13: The Jammu and Kashmir government has issued about 95,407 cft to earthquake survivors of Uri and Tangdhar areas by September-end and 25,600 cft to the people of Baramulla.

This was informed at a high-level meeting chaired by Forests, Environment, Housing and Urban Development Minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal at Baramulla yesterday.

The meeting was told that Rs 8 crore have been released for construction of the Baramulla district hospital, expected to be completed within four months.

Issuance of timber, construction work of the Baramulla District hospital, upgrade and improvement of several roads and construction of bridges were discussed threadbare. Among others present at the meeting were former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA from Baramulla Muzaffar Hussain Baigh, Minister of State for Roads and Buildings, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mohammad Khalil Bandh.
