Standup campaign against poverty

Bhopal, Oct 13 (UNI) Several thousand people will join the ''Standup'' campaign taking a pledge to remove poverty across Madhya Pradesh at 1100 hours on October 16 as part of United Nations worldwide campaign against poverty.

Organised by NGO ''Madhyvan'', the campaign's state-level function will be held at Indore, wherein Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and UN representative Salil Shetty will join about 50,000 others to take the pledge.

Similar functions will be held at all educational institutions and government offices on the day, the NGO activist Awadhesh Kumar said.
